Nelson Glen Sarver's Obituary
Nelson Glen Sarver, 88, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 in Manor Court in Clinton.
Nelson was born on May 3, 1929 in Bowling Green, IL the son of Charles Essex and Nora Ellen (Hawyer) Sarver. He served his country proudly during the Korean War in the U.S. Air Force. He worked for Mueller Company and retired from ADM West Plant.He married Fannie Louise Billbe on October 18, 1959. She preceded him in death on March 9, 2015.
He leaves behind his daughters Frances (Robert) Petty, Laura Newingham, and Susan Olson, and grandchildren Robert J. Petrie, Jacob M.N. Petrie, Brandon R. Newingham, Victoria Petty, Rebecca Petty, Kassandra Petty, Sara Olson, and Shae Olson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, four brothers, and four sisters.
Funeral service to celebrate Nelson’s life will be 11 AM Thursday, July 6, 2017 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be 10-11 AM Thursday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard.
