Dearest Everett, thank you so much for leaving me a message about Nikki. Tears flooded my eyes when I heard you say she had passed away. I met Nikki at Circle Urban Ministries back in the late 1980s, and she was a breath of fresh air for me. This was my first real job out of college, and I also was newly married. Nikki made me feel confident and loved. She was a good listener and I loved her laughter. She and I shared an appreciation for classic books. At the time she was reading Franny and Zoey by J.D. Salinger. I checked out a copy at the library and couldn't put it down. Nikki had an effervescent personality, and she was a truly genuine and spiritual Christian in a sort of unconventional way, in the best sense of the word. I was always so glad to see her whenever she was at Circle. We enjoyed talking and laughing together in my little office on the 2nd floor. I can only imagine how much you must miss her! Nikki had such a loving heart, and I am grateful to have had her in my life at a time when I needed confidence from a mentor. I regarded her as a role mode. I will never forget Nikki, and I can only hope that I was half as much of a blessing to her as she was to me. I will be praying for you and your family. Our love, Cynthia NordbergHope for the Family Ministries
