Norma Jean Gilbert's Obituary
Decatur – Norma Jean Gilbert, 87, of Decatur, IL, passed away Sunday, November 18, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Norma was born January 5, 1931, in Decatur, the daughter of Angelo F. and Nellie (Roppa) Endrizzi. A homemaker and member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Norma was a big Chicago Cubs fan. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and enjoyed spending time bowling, golfing and playing Bingo. She married Jerry Gilbert on August 3, 1948, in Burlington, IA, and he preceded her in death July 9, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Joann and one great grandson.
She is survived by her children: Butch (Connie) Gilbert of Decatur, Carmen (Richard) Risley of Decatur, and Angela (Roger) Dyer of TN; six grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 AM, Friday, November 23, 2018, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; visitation will be one hour prior in the church. Burial will take place at a later date in Mt. Gilead Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
