Norma E Rakers' Obituary
Decatur – Norma E. Rakers, 88, of Decatur, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Aperion Care Decatur.
Norma was born December 10, 1926 in Decatur, the daughter of Herman and Elizabeth (Hines) Rakers. She was an assembly line worker for Borg Warner in the Marvel-Schebler department, and retired with over thirty years of service. She was member of Ss. James and Patrick Catholic Church, and an advocate and supporter of Prolife of Decatur. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, and love spending time with family.
Surviving is her sister, Pauline Hays of Decatur, IL along with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Ethel Leipzig, Dolores Barnett, Lorraine Kapper, and brothers, Francis “Fritz” Rakers, James Rakers, and Henry Rakers.
Visitation will be 9 am Monday, June 8, 2015 in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 am, Monday in the church, Rev. John Burnette, Celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Decatur. Memorial donations may be directed to Ss. James and Patrick Catholic Church, or donor’s choice.
