Norman Leonard Hendrian's Obituary
Norman Leonard Hendrian 86 of Decatur died Friday June 10, 2005 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Tuesday June 14, 2005 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Norman was born on January 24, 1919 in Decatur the son of August F. and Anna M. Salogga Hendrian. He attended St. John's grade school and graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1937. He was a life long member of St. John's Lutheran Church where he was baptized and confirmed. He served on the Decatur Police Department for Thirty-three years. He started out his career walking a beat with his father who was a policeman also. He finished his career as a Lieutenant. He was also a member of the Illinois Policeman Benevolent Association. He was an avid woodworker and enjoyed is HO train hobby. He loved to watch Chicago Cubs games. He will always be remembered for sitting on the front porch with his wife smoking his cigar. He married the love of his life Mary J. McGuire on October 30, 1943 in Decatur she preceded him in death on May 24, 1982.
Surviving is the son of his heart Daniel J. Wrigley and wife Teresa of Decatur; The Don Wrigley family, one nephew, three nieces and many grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Donald Hendrian and Robert Hendrian, special friend Donald Wrigley, and a grandson Tyler Schook.
