Olive V. Basil 87 of Decatur passed away at 6:00 pm December 19, Friday 2003 in the Fairhavens Care Center.
Graveside Services celebrating her life will be Tuesday December 23, 2003 11:00 am in Graceland Cemetery. Rev. Dan Spruell will officiate services. Olive was born on June 26, 1916 in Decatur, Illinois the daughter of William and Maude Erwin Marshall. She was homemaker caring for her family. She attended the Church of the Brethren with her husband and family. She married Paul L. Basil in Montezuma, Indiana in September 1932; he preceded her in death on May 29, 1966.
She is survived by her sons; Charles L. Basil and wife Ninette of Seymour, Indiana, William Ray Basil of Senora, Texas, Paul "Floyd" Basil and wife Rebecca of Decatur, Illinois, Chester G. Basil of Decatur, Illinois, one daughter; Joan Dagley and husband Donald of Decatur, Illinois; seventeen grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, two sisters; Laura Hagan of Mesa, Arizona and Verna Bejovich of Aptos, California. Olive was also preceded in death by one brother.
