Olive Freeman's Obituary
Decatur ' Olive “Ollie” Freeman, 84, of Decatur passed away on Sunday, April 22, 2012 in St. Mary’s Hospital.
Ollie was born December 16, 1927 in Decatur, IL the son of John and Naomi Taylor Freeman. He retired from Bridgestone/Firestone February of 1990. He was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He married Beverly Crum on September 8, 1968 in Seekonk, Massachusetts.
Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mattie Tucker Green and Ruth E. Slater; sisters-in-law, Lillian Freeman, Katherine Freeman, and his best friend, Bobby Jones.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John Freeman II, James A. Freeman, and Thomas Grant Freeman, sisters, Neda N. Jenkins and Ethel Hatten, and step-son, Albert Jones.
He was loved and cherished by a host of nieces, nephews, God children, grandchildren, and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Richard Fritz and staff for the many years of excellent service.
Visitation will be 4:00 ' 6:00 pm Friday, April 27, 2012 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Graveside service will be 10:00 am Saturday, April 28, 2012 in Greenwood Cemetery.
