Opal Marie Allen-Merlo's Obituary
Opal Marie Allen-Merlo 91, of Mt. Zion, died on Sunday, February 16, 2003.
Funeral Services will be 11 A.M. Wednesday, February 19, 2003 in J. J. Moran & Sons Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:30 until the service time. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park. Memorials to: Heritage Manor Nursing Home.
Opal was born in Decatur on January 28, 1912 the daughter of Alva and Maude Powell Scroggins. She was a homemaker and attended the Methodist Church most of her life. She married Roland Allen in 1937 and he preceded her in death in 1969. She then married Frank Merlo in 1972 and he preceded her in death in 1996.
Surviving are her daughters: Sheila Brunner Donald of Oakley, Beverly Fink of Mt. Zion; sister, Emogene Carroll of Decatur; son in law, Bruce Fink Jackie; niece, Evelyn of Chicago; cousin, Juanita Hart Kenneth of Springfield; special friends, Ron Smith Bessie Grolla, and Kurt Bricker Lynette. Six grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren.
Her parents, three sisters and one brother preceded her in death.
The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to the entire staff and extended family at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Dr. D. Patel, Dr. G. Patel, Dr. Atluri, as well as their staff.
