Opal J. Doddek's Obituary
Opal Jewel Satterlee Schepper Doddek, 80, of Decatur, died on Thurs. Dec. 2, 2004 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services celebrating her life will be 11 a.m. Mon. Dec. 6, 2004 in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Pastor Wray Offerman officiating. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sun. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home and one hour before services in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Lutheran School Association.
Opal was born on Dec. 8, 1923 in Harrodsburg, Ky. the daughter of Fred E. and Ruth H. Adkins Satterlee. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, V.F.W. auxiliary, and had previously worked as a volunteer at Decatur Memorial Hospital. Opal married Donald W. Schepper in 1939 and he preceded her in death in 1948; she then married Arthur Doddek on Oct. 15, 1949 and he preceded her in death in January of 2003.
Surviving is her daughter, Carol husband, Robert Gruber of St. Louis; granddaughter, Cheryl Gruber of St. Louis; many nieces, nephews and friends.
Her parents; two husbands'; brothers: Clyde, Robert and Fred Satterlee; sisters: Annabell Prine, Goldie Bost and Ramona Gant preceded her in death.
