Virginie Goffaux
Mr. Smith was one of the first grown-ups I met when my family and I moved from Belgium to Pulaski in 1973. I remember that he was very tall, and very, very kind. I played at the Smiths' house nearly every day it seemed from kindergarten to 5th grade. Mr. and Mrs. Smith always welcomed me warmly and with open arms. They made me feel like part of the family, like the "little sister" from across the street. I would like to thank Mr. Smith for his kindness, his generosity and for his tolerance of a 6th kid in his house for all those years. I am very sad at the news of his passing. I know that he did not go alone however. He was a much loved and cherished man. Sandy and Susie, I am thinking about you and am praying with you from the other side of the ocean. All my love, Virginie Braine-l'Alleud, – Other – Belgium
