Pamela Maria White's Obituary
Pamela Maria White, 45, of Decatur departed from life on Saturday, July 2, 2011 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Pamela was the daughter of Alice Smith and Hosie Duckworth and was born on August 17, 1965. She united with St. John Baptist Church at an early age under Pastor J.C. Rice. She moved her fellowship to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witnesses. She graduated from East Park Academy. Pamela was a great humanitarian, often times she would open her home to family, friends, and even strangers. She was a woman of prayer. She was employed at Agrifab. She also worked at Decatur Memorial Hospital in sterile processing for ten years and in personal home care for many years.
Pamela was an organ donor a “Gift of Hope” She gave sight to someone who she haven’t seen, her heart to a person whose own heart has caused nothing but endless days of pain, her blood to help family with a teenager who was pulled from a wrecked car, so they might live to see their grandchild play. She gave her kidney to someone who depended on a machine, her bones, every muscle, fiber and nerve in her body to find a way to make a cripple child walk. The memory of Pamela will be cherished by many lives that she has touched.
Pamela leaves to cherish her loving memory, former husband, Charlie T. White of Decatur; mother, Alice Smith; father, Hosie Duckworth; sister, Paula Ingram Charles all of Decatur; grandmother, Edna Owens, Aunts Carolyn Owens and Marie Stagger of Decatur ; uncles, Nate Duckworth and John Owens both of Decatur; special cousin, Aqueelah Muhammad of Cedar Hill, TX; special long time friends, Carolyn Booth and Joann Vinson; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
Pam was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Lewis, aunt Khalilah Muhammad, and aunt Edna Dewalt.
Visitation gathering will be 5:00 ' 7:00 pm Friday July 8, 2011in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Cremation will be accorded after visitation at Graceland/Fairlawn Crematory.
