Patricia Rose Behringer's Obituary
Patricia Rose Behringer, 92, of Decatur, IL, died January 24, 2017, at Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by her devoted family. Born December 24, 1924, in Loveland, CO, she was the daughter of Rudolph and Agnes Beck. She graduated in 1943 from Mary D. Bradford High School in Kenosha, WI. On June 12, 1948, she married Donald E. Behringer at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Kenosha. Throughout their 40 years together, they moved many times with Don’s NCR career, making their final move to Decatur in 1972.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one sister, and three infants: Susan, James, and Paul. She is survived by four children: Ken (Debbie) Behringer of Burnsville, MN; Tom (Sue) Behringer of Libertyville, IL; Janet (Ken) Hannah of Naperville, IL; Ann (Dan) O’Connell of Piqua, OH. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
Pat was an active member at St. Thomas Catholic Church, participating in many activities over the years. She also volunteered at Catholic Charities, Good Samaritan Inn, and Project Read. In addition to her family, she loved bowling, crossword puzzles, reading as many daily newspapers as possible, a well-made Brandy Manhattan, and her World Champion Chicago Cubs.
The family wishes to thank her physician, Dr. Dhirendra Patel, who became her very dear friend as well as her wonderful friends Annette Mormino, Ann Nation, and Pat Hearring who brought much joy to her life.
A Mass of Christian burial will be Saturday, 12:30 p.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, with viewing from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. prior to Mass. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. Donations in her name can be made to Catholic Charities or St. Thomas Church.
