Patricia R. Wombacher's Obituary
Decatur-Patricia R. Wombacher, 84, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Hickory Point Christian Village in Forsyth.
She was born February 11, 1930 in Kansas, Illinois, the daughter of Arch O. and Grace (Combs) Babb. She was previously employed with A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company retiring with over twenty-five years of service. She was a member of Ss James & Patrick Parish, Staley Women’s Club, and the Sons and Daughters of Ireland. She was a cancer survivor and volunteer with the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. She enjoyed reading, shopping, and socializing. She married William C. Wombacher February 18, 1986 in Decatur. He preceded her in death March 12, 2010.
She leaves behind her children Debbie (Mark) Lessley of Decatur, James (Susan) LaRock of Pekin, Vicki (Alvin) Smith of Chico, California, and Mike (Susie) Bozell of Champaign, sister Jeannie Shy, eleven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and her beloved dog Baby.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, two brothers, and one sister.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Carlos Fior for his many years of care and the nurses and staff at Hickory Point Christian Village for all of their loving care.
Funeral liturgy to celebrate Patricia’s life will be 1p.m. Friday, October 10, 2014 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with Rev. John Burnette officiating. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
