Pat was born on April 3, 1952 in Decatur, IL to Louis J. and Winnie “Cookie” (Powell) Feriozzi. He attended Our Lady of Lourdes School and graduated from St. Teresa High School in 1970, where he was a National Honor Society member and an Illinois State Scholar. Pat attended both Lewis College and Illinois State University.
Pat (nicknamed “Chunk”) was an extremely smart high school football player graced with brute strength, quickness, and tremendous burst of speed. His senior year, he was an all-city selection and voted Most Valuable Player. Pat remained a loyal Bulldogs fan his entire life. He could always be spotted at games and he mentored numerous football players through the decades.
His father’s son, Pat learned and embraced all aspects of his parents’ sweat equity approach to providing for their family and, consequently, evolved into an accomplished home building master craftsman. His decades-long career in construction produced an immeasurable number of homes and businesses in central Illinois, California, Alabama and Michigan.
Pat had an observing and thoughtful demeanor that lent itself to fierce loyalty to those he loved. He was a lesson on stubborn love, but was always on hand to help and encourage. Many family and friends will continue to experience Pat’s generosity daily through what he built and repaired for them. He was especially proud of his final major project, the construction of Door 4 Brewery. Pat’s family encourages his loved ones to gather there to admire his beautiful legacy, as it is crafted into all of ours.
