Paul M. Sulicz's Obituary
Decatur- Paul M. Sulicz, 60, of Decatur, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, in his residence, surrounded by his family.
Paul was born on November 19, 1954 in Hammond, IN the son of William and Doris (Pandak) Sulicz. He graduated from MacArthur High School, Arkansas State University, and Nova University with a Masters in Education. He was a member of Ss. James & Patrick Parish and the Knights of Columbus in Palm Beach, Florida and was a Past Grand Knight. He was retired from Palm Beach County School District. He was an avid baseball player and was player of the year in 1972. He could take a nothing day and turn it in to a fun day. He was fun loving, adventurous, and a jokester.
Surviving are his daughter, Amanda Sulicz of Cleveland, OH; mother, Doris Sheef (Gail) of Versailles, KY; brother, William Sulicz of Decatur, IL; sisters, Andrea Blakeman of Decatur, IL; Marybeth Hoyland of Decatur, IL; Marcia Burns (Kenneth) of Decatur, IL; Vicki Duncan (Scott) Decatur, IL; Kelly Curran-Courtney of Versailles, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, and step-father, Ewell Curran.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Tuesday, June 9, 2015 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Rev. John Burnette as Celebrant. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Monday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with a Vigil Prayer Service at 5:30 PM. Burial will be in Resurrection Gardens at Graceland Cemetery and conclude with the “Flight Home” ceremony. In lieu of flowers are suggested to his daughter’s education.
