Pauline Ferguson's Obituary
Decatur-Pauline Ferguson, 85, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, January 26, 2013 in Imboden Creek Living Center.
Pauline was born February 18, 1927 in Arthur, Illinois the daughter of Harry and Alma (Trotter) Beiler. She retired from Borg Warner in 1982 after thirty five years of service. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She married Curtis Wayne Ferguson in 1950.
Pauline was born prematurely and weighing only two pounds, she wasn't expected to survive the night. With her grandmother's help of a makeshift incubator, she not only survived but grew to be the proud matriarch of a loving family and lived eighty-five happy years. She loved to sing and perfected the art of yodeling at a young age which won her a pair of white patent leather shoes. Later in life, she was a member of 'The Golden Girls', the winning bowling team including lifelong friends Betty, Pat, and Dottie. Above all else, Pauline was a Christian woman whose family always came first. She was a faithful lover of animals and always had a smile and a kind word for anyone fortunate enough to cross her path.
She leaves behind her children Harry Ferguson, Cynthia (Steven) Morrison, and Curtis (Helen) Ferguson, sister Rosalie James, grandchildren Jarrid (Katie) Morrison, Jonathan Ferguson, Sean (Alex) Ferguson, Jason (Kasie) Ferguson, Zach (Akie) Ferguson, and Samantha Ferguson, six great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, husband, sister Mary Grunden, and mother-in-law Mable 'Granny' Dixon.
Services to celebrate Pauline's life will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church, 130 W. Eldorado, with Father Dick Swann officiating. Visitation will be from 11-1 pm prior to the services at the church. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to St. John's Episcopal Church or the Alzheimer's Association.
