DASH OBITUARY
Peggy Jane Hyland Dash died at 11:00 pm Sunday June 12, 2005. She was born on December 21, 1940, to Fred and Ferne Broughton Hyland of rural Mt. Zion. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm Wednesday in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Graveside services are at 11:00 am Thursday in Mount Zion Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Cancer Care Foundation. Peggy graduated from Mount Zion High School in 1958, worked at J.D. Johnson and Son Insurance for three years. In 1964 she began her 40 years career in Trust and Estate administration at First National Bank of Decatur. She later transferred to Citizens National Bank. The last eight years, she worked at Country Trust Bank in Bloomington, IL, retiring March 2003.
She married Ross C. Dash on June 18, 1961 at Mount Zion Presbyterian Church. They had a daughter, Dana Renee Dash born on September 9, 1963.
Peggy and Ross enjoyed traveling – from the east coast to the Rocky Mountains and Yellowstone Park, many trips on their Harley Davidson Motorcycle. They also took flying and automobile trips, ranging from Key West, Florida to the California Coast.
Peggy is survived by her husband Ross, brother Don Hyland wife Lou, niece Lisa Hyland, cousin Jake Hyland of Urbana, IL, Jerry Hyland of Windsor, IL, Stanley Broughton and Russell Broughton wife Sarah of Mount Zion, IL. She is also survived by lifetime best friends Sharon Holeman, Sharon Goodwin, Donna Smith and best friend from Bloomington Lynda Schilcofski who all helped in her last fight for life.
Predeceased by her parents and daughter, Dana who died in an automobile accident in 1980 at the age of seventeen. Finally together for eternity.
