Phillip Michael "Mike" Boaz's Obituary
Phillip Michael “Mike” Boaz, 62, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2015, in St. Mary’s Hospital in Decatur with his family by his side.
Mike was born November 12, 1952, in Freeport, IL to Albert Dean and Mildred (Davidson) Boaz. Mike served in the U.S. Army. He married Cathy Hart on April 26, 1991, in Decatur. He was a locomotive engineer for Norfolk & Southern Railroad and retired after 20 years of service. He enjoyed camping and cooking.
Mike is survived by his wife of 24 years, Cathy; three children, Adele, Aaron and Wendy Boaz all of Decatur; mother, Mildred Blaylock of Assumption; five grandchildren; one brother, Dean (Sue) Boaz of Nalcrest, FL; and one sister, Mary Jo (Stanley) Hartle of Assumption.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Mike Boaz will be 11 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2015, in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday before the service at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the Cancer Care Institute in Decatur.
