Phyllis Bushell's Obituary
Our mom, Phyllis Joan Bushell, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, Feb 21st at Randall Residence, to take up new residence with the LORD she prayed to so often – mostly on our behalf. She didn’t quite make it to the 61 st anniversary of her 29 th birthday – but darn close. She was born May 24, 1929. At her passing, she was blessed with health, but it was her grit and great attitude that we treasured most. What a lady. Like so many of her generation, she was a wonderful bride, a good friend, a caring, funny, energetic, and always loving mom, an amazing Mother in Law and of course, a terrific Grandma.
She was Burl and Sevilla’s little girl from Pekin Illinois, and brother Bob’s older sister. She laughed and smiled all of the time, and boy was she in love with the fleet- footed fullback from Lincoln, who said he’d take her out just because he felt sorry for her… (Bill Bushell at his finest – nothing like standing out from the crowd telling a stunning blonde with lots of options that you are pretty sure of yourself. She loved that man with his teeming self-confidence and bold sense of humor).
Mom leaves two sons – Marty and Mark (and trusting that in the LORD’s direct care now she will get our names straight…), two truly amazing daughters-in-law Denise and Cindy, grandkids Matthew, Michael, Mack and Vanessa, Jessica and Tyler, Sam, and Julia, and great grandsons Kade and Nathanael. May we strive to be as much a blessing to our kids and grandkids and friends as she was to us. Finally, thank you to all her friends and neighbors who made her life so special. She loved her life – and you are a big reason why. We can’t thank you enough
