Phyllis May Collins' Obituary
Phyllis May Collins, 75, of Decatur, died Wednesday, April 29, 2009.
Graveside service will be 10:00 am, Monday, May 4, 2009 in Brown Cemetery. There will be no visitation. The family requests casual attire please. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
Phyllis was born July 14, 1933 in Sparta, daughter of Charles and Alice Austin Lewis. She married Marvin Collins on March 15, 1954. After almost 37 years of marriage, he preceded her in death in 1990. Phyllis was a Cardinals fan and enjoyed playing bingo. She had many friends, and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Decatur Memorial Hospital for all their help.
She is survived by her children, Karen Coleman; Michael Collins; Kimberly Bennett Bird; Bruce Collins; Troy Collins; Kelly Collins; 12 grandchildren, Brandi; Scott; Sarah; Diana; Krystal; Jarrod; Kelcey; Maekaela; Abbey; Michael Jr; Anthony; Dustin; three great-grand children, Zachary; Ryleigh; Kaliyah; four sisters, Roma Thompson; Betty Lewis; Ellen Angle; Linda Highcock; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marvin; three brothers, Freddy; George; Gary; one son, Mark; and one son-in-law, Ivan Coleman.
