Randa Jayne Miller's Obituary
Randa Jayne Miller, 71, left this life surrounded by her family in love, on October 29, 2023.
Randa was born in Decatur, Illinois, on October 15, 1952, the daughter of Barbara Lillian Rendle and John William Hardy. She married Willis Stephen “Steve” Miller on March 6, 1971 in Decatur, Illinois. She graduated from Stephen Decatur High School in 1970 and went on the earn her Associates Degree with honors from Richland Community College in 1996. She worked as a medical transcriptionist and at St. Mary’s as a switchboard operator, retiring in 2013 after 18 years.
Randa loved to sing Diana Ross songs and Christmas carols. She sang lead in the singing group the “Dupremes” in her high school years alongside her then boyfriend, later husband, Steve, in the “Duprimes.” Her favorite time of year was Christmas. She loved spending time with her family.
Randa is survived by her husband Willis Steve Miller; daughter Tonja Miller-Carr (Lonnie Carr); sons Paul Miller (Briana) and Trisdon Miller (Lee); granddaughter Tesia Jones; grandsons Kristopher Miller, Kai Miller, and Kaiden Miller; sister Marsha Jennings; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother Barbara Rendle, father John Hardy, sister Mida Hardy, brothers Dallas and Darryl Hardy, granddaughter Talitha Miller, and niece Jasmin Hardy-DeBerry.
Visitation will be from 1pm to 2pm on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. A Homegoing Service will follow, beginning at 2pm. Burial in Greenwood Cemetery will follow the service.
