Richard Lewis Blakesley's Obituary
Richard Lewis Blakesley, 78, of Sullivan, formerly of Decatur, died Saturday, December 8, 2007, in Sullivan Health Care Center.
Richard was born October 18, 1929, in Mason City, the son of Lloyd Leroy and Emily C. Copper Blakesley. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he retired from Caterpillar Inc. in 1981 after 31 years of service as a press operator. He was a member of the Baptist faith and Local # 974.
Surviving are his children: Steve Blakesley of Peoria, Gordon Blakesley of Arkansas and Angie Wheeler of Cuba, IL; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren; beloved niece, Jane Mason Webb whom Richard resided with for 11 years.
No services are planned at this time. His remains will be cremated.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Mary Lou Blakesley Adams and brothers: Lloyd, Albert, and Fred Blakesley.
