Richard E. Brummett's Obituary
Richard E. Brummett, 69, of Decatur passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2015 in his home.
Richard was born on July 30, 1945 in Sandwich, IL the son of Paul E. and Fern (Lockwood) Brummett. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army and was a member of American Legion Post 105. He was retired from A.E. Staley Manufacturing Company and Rutherford Farms. He married Mary Alice Liesse on November 15, 1969 in Joliet. She preceded him in death in 2002.
Surviving are his sons, Anthony Brummett (Lana) of St. Louis, MO; Andrew Brummett (Kimberly) of Decatur; brother, Roger Brummett (Dee Dee) of Salem; grandchildren, Samantha, Sarah, Kayleigh, Katharyn, and Kristopher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and an infant sister.
Funeral service to celebrate Richard’s life will be 10 AM Thursday, June 25, 2015 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home with the “Flight Home” ceremony. Visitation will be 5-7 PM Wednesday in the funeral home. Burial will be in Macon County Memorial Park with military honors conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials are suggested to American Legion Post 105.
