I never actually met Bob in person but we communicated extensively after he graciously asked me to write some stories for his latest book. He encouraged me to write a book of my own, something I have been working on for many months. As it approached completion, he told me just last month how excited he was to one day be able to read it. I regret that I didn't finish it sooner.

My deepest condolences to the Kerans family. Bob will be missed.

My thoughts and prayers go out to the Kerans Family. I am so sorry to hear of Bob's passing. I had the honor of meeting Bob through the US Army Corps of Engineers and the Lake Shelbyville Fish Habitat Alliance. It was always a pleasure speaking with Bob and listening to him share all his vast knowledge about fishing and the outdoors.

I first met Bob when he started the Illinois Muskie Tournament Trail. I could tell by the way he approached us that he was sincere and passionate about the fish we all chase, the MUSKIE. Over the years his job title changed but he was a true leader and wanted to help in any way he could. The last time I saw Bob in person was at the Illinois Scholastic Mukie Tournament at Mill Creek Lake in Marshall, IL. He wanted to make sure the kids received a rod and reel from him. He made sure everyone had one of their own when they walked away from that event. Bob also gave away books and fishing videos. He was a true leader and teacher.
Now he has finished all his chores. He is on a boat headed out to fish where every day is a fishing day and I might add, without pain. He was always there to guide and help. Bob's lessons will not go in vain.
Until we meet again.

Please accept my deepest condolences on the passing of Bob. He was a kind man for sure and thoughtful when it came to others. His devotion to the sport of muskie fishing and conservation was like no other. His guidance and impact within the fishing community will be missed but I hope he has seen the family and is back on the water in pursuit of a 50 inch muskie as I'm sure there's some there waiting for Bob to make his next cast. His presence will be missed. I'm grateful for having the opportunity to have known him. Prayers to the family and for God's presence in this time of need to support you in a time of loss.
