Robert Linden "Bob" Matson's Obituary
Bob was born in Decatur on March 19, 1933 a son of Walter C. and Eva Elizabeth Bolin Matson. Bob worked as an operator for Bridgestone/Firestone in the Banbury Department. He also worked as a bartender at Nellie’s, Sonny’s and the Garfield Tap for eight and a half years. He was affiliated with the Pilgrim Lutheran Church, and a member of the steel workers union #713. Bob proudly served his country in the Army during the Korean War. He married Jacqueline Sue Beamis on June 01, 1968 in Decatur.
Surviving are his wife of Decatur; daughter, Michelle Elizabeth Strader, husband Jonathon of Racine, Wisconsin; brothers: Paul Matson, wife Phyllis of Shelby Township, Michigan; James Matson of Decatur; sisters: Marilyn Haws, husband Benny of Decatur; Shirley Munjoy of Mt. Zion; grandchildren: Gage William, Isabella Maria, Jonathon Linden, and Karmina; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
His parents preceded him in death.
