Robert E. Bracelin Sr.'s Obituary
Robert E. Bracelin Sr. 94, of Osage Beach, MO, formerly of Decatur, died Thursday, November 13, 2008 Osage Beach, MO.
Mr. Bracelin was born August 11, 1914, in Davenport, IA, the son of John R. and Gertrude Kirkman Bracelin. A U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific and member of the American Legion Post #105, Bob worked as manager of marketing and advertising at Burks Pumps before retiring in 1979. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus Council #577 and past Faithful Navigator and member of Very Reverend Jeremiah J. Murphy Assembly #211. Bob was a charter member of the Golden “K” Kiwanis Club, member and volunteer of Decatur Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer with RSVP/Dove programs. Bob married Clare Rose Barbour in Rock Island on August 3, 1940 and she preceded him in death.
He is survived by his sons: Robert E. Bracelin Jr. of Decatur, William J. Diane Bracelin of Moore, OK, Michael G. Ursula Bracelin of Osage Beach, MO, and Kevin T. Carolyn Bracelin of Decatur; five grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; infant daughter, Mary Clare; and brothers: Raymond, John and Donald.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11 am, Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; visitation one hour before the mass at the church. Burial with military rites conducted by the Macon County honor Guard will be in Graceland Cemetery. Memorials: Our Lady of Lourdes Building Fund or American Heart Association.
