Robert "Bob" Dean Walker, Jr.'s Obituary
Robert “Bob” Dean Walker, Jr., 79, of Decatur, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014 in his home.
Bob was born May 22, 1934 in Berry, AR, the son of Robert Dean and Helen (Curtis) Walker, Sr. He proudly served for the United States Marines, and he was proud to be a Korean War Veteran. He was a boiler maker who also enjoyed working on CBs. He loved to fish and hunt in his spare time. He married Kathie Barnes on November 11, 1983, and they shared 30 wonderful years together.
Bob leaves behind his wife, Kathie Walker; son, Randy Walker of Springfield, IL; stepdaughters, Tracey (Richard) Snider of Kingman, IN; Kelli (Rob) Taylor of Westville, IL; Roger (Bonnie) Walker of Mooresville, MO; Harold Walker of Trenton, MO; sisters, Mary Malam of St. James, MO; Linda (Don) Alfred of St. Joe, MO; June (Wayne) Baker of Chillicothe, MO; Sandy Cook of Montreal, MO; grandchildren, Rachael and Briana Walker of Springfield, MO; Marletta Walker of Springfield, IL; step-grandchildren, Alyssa Picket of Veedersburg, IN; Jordan, Megyn, and Jeremiah Snider of Kingman, IN; Zachery Taylor of Westville, IL; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister-in-law, Shirley Walker.
A graveside service to celebrate Robert’s life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL.
