Robert Joseph Denney's Obituary
Robert Joseph Denney, 68, of Decatur entered into rest on August 23, 2023 at Fair Havens Senior Living.
Robert was born November 23, 1954 in Gary, IN, the son of Oris Harlan and Betty Jo (Koger) Denney.
Robert was a recycle manager at ADM Warehouse, serving 28 years of service to ADM. He was a talented drummer and had played with multiple bands within the area. He also taught percussion at Macon Music, often teaching children in need for no cost. He was also known to spend his own money to help others in need have a Christmas.
Surviving are his mother, BJ Heitz of Decatur, IL; sisters, Connie Warnsley of Decatur, IL, Vicki Stepney (Tony) of Decatur, IL, and a host of special nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Oris Denney and his stepfather, Harold Sawyer, who held a major role with raising him; brother, Mike Denney and sisters, Beverly Hardwick and Karen Denney.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 2, 2023 at Moran and Goebel Funeral Home.
Memorials: because of his love for animals, donations have been suggested to the Macon County Animal Shelter.
