Robert Lee Evans, Sr. 49, of Decatur passed this life unto another on July 09, 2005 at D.M.H.
Funeral services will be at Christ Tabernacle Church 441 North Church Street, where visitation will be from 11 am -12 noon, services will be at 12 noon on Friday July 15, 2005. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery immediately following the services. Moran & Goebel Funeral Home is assisting the family with these arrangements. Robert Evans was born May 26, 1956 in Decatur, to Robert Lee Taylor and Georgia Mae Evans Barron. Robert was a self employed carpenter, he attended Decatur Public Schools. Robert met and married Yolanda Lane deceased that union bore three sons.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories, his loving wife, Dewilla Cooper Evans, his mother Georgia Mae Barron both of Decatur, three sons Robert Lee Evans, Jr., Anthony Evans and Marquise Evans all of Memphis, TN, three step sons Walter, Ellison Cooper, James Latasha Thompson, two stepdaughters, Bonika Fred Jones and Tomika Cooper all of Decatur; three grandchildren; five brothers Albert Marilyn Evans, Andre Michele Barron, Leon Parker all of Decatur, Jeffrey Kimberly Williams of Chicago, Melvin Adams of Brownsville, Tenn.; eight sisters, Jill Bailey Roy, Ella Rickey Brown, Tammie Evans, Jacqueline Mann, Connie Banks, Mary Banks of Decatur, Shirley & Linda Adams of Brownsville, Tenn. Maternal Grandmother, LuElla Evans of Decatur; A host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces and great nephews, step grandchildren, and friends, special daughter-in-law, Meka Oneal.
Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert Lee Taylor, step dad Robert Barron, Yolanda Evans late wife, maternal grandfather, George Evans. Fraternal grandparents, Jetson Taylor, Gustee Boyce, eight uncles, six aunts, three nephews, two great nieces and one brother.
The Evans family would like to thank D.M.H Hospice and Cancer Care unit staff and a special thanks to Wanda Chatman and Dr. Mario Velasco, also thanks to the Church of Living God Temple # 1, Community Church of God, and Christ Tabernacle.
