Robert C. "Bob" "Hop" Hopkins' Obituary
Decatur – Robert C. “Bob” “Hop” Hopkins, 95, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, November 2, 2024, in his home.
Bob was born on April 22, 1929, in Decatur, IL, the son of David and Leota (Roderick) Hopkins. A member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and 71-year member of Plumbers & Steamfitters Local #65/137, Bob worked as a union plumber and steamfitter. Bob was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Darrell W. Beck Council #577 and Elks Lodge. He married Dorothy Eggler on October 30, 1948, in Decatur.
Surviving are his children: James (Chery) Hopkins of OH, Teri Ducy of Decatur, and Mary Kay (Bobby) Ellis of Mt. Zion; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; sister, Connie (Jerry) Brown of IN; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Dorothy on April 11, 2003, daughter Sheila Colbert, infant brother, David Jr, and sisters: Beverly Taylor and Gwen Buckley.

Visitation will be Thursday, November 7, 2024, from 10am until the service time of 11am, at the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Dove Inc or Elks Lodge #401.
