Robert K. "Kenten" Deardorff's Obituary
Morrisonville – Robert K. “Kenten” Deardorff, 67, of Morrisonville, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018 at Barnes Hospital, St. Louis.
He was born January 2, 1951 in Taylorville the son of Robert E. and Ruth (Ryan) Deardorff. A U.S. Navy Veteran, Kenten retired as owner/operator of Deardorff Construction. He was a member of St. Maurice Catholic Church, past Commander and member of Morrisonville American Legion Post 721 and member of Knights of Columbus Council 1151. He was a former trustee on the village board, former member of the Morrisonville Community Club and served as parade chairman for many years. Kenten also served on the Morrisonville volunteer fire department and ambulance service, taught woodworking and wood refinishing classes for LLCC and served as a Work-Site Mentor for the Work Based Learning program. Kenten loved to camp, fish, winter in Texas and spend time with his grandchildren who he adored. He married Brenda A. Brockamp May 8, 1971 in Morrisonville.
Kenten was preceded in death by his father and daughter Amanda.
Surviving is his wife, Brenda of Morrisonville; son, Adam (Jessica) Deardorff of Morrisonville; grandchildren: Rian, Noah and Mika; mother, Ruth Deardorff of Taylorville; sisters: Denna (Alan) Achenbauch of Taylorville and Erla (David) Pieplow of Collinsville; brother, Sam (Kristy) Deardorff of Versailles; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at St. Maurice Catholic Church, Morrisonville. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, 2018 at the church. Burial will follow in St. Maurice Catholic Cemetery. In lieu flowers, memorials may be made to Morrisonville American Legion or Morrisonville Ambulance Service.
