Robert M. Knittle's Obituary
Robert M. “Bob” Knittle passed away in his home with his wife at his side on Wednesday, August 26, 2009 at 10:30 pm.
A memorial service will be 1:30 pm Saturday August 29, 2009 in Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before service in the funeral home. Private Family burial will be at a later date in Long Point Cemetery, Niantic. In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to DMH Hospice.

Mr. Knittle was born July 5, 1937, in Lima Ohio, the son of LeRoy A. and Mary Louise Hayes Knittle. He served in the Army Reserves and National Guard. He worked for Wabash railroad and then went to work for Firestone for 30 years before retiring. He married Mary C. Lowe Knittle on July 25, 1959.
Surviving are his wife of 50 years; sons, Rob Mary; Ron Dianne; daughter, Kim, all of Decatur; sister, Caroline Lowe of Marion, IL; brother, Dave Knittle of AZ; grandson, Eric Knittle; step-grandson, Bryan White; step-granddaughter, Brittani White, all of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents, twin sons, Teddie and Eddie; two brothers, Richard and Ronnie; sister, Eleanor “Shug” Moore; and his special cat, Moe.
Bob was a loving husband and father, and a loyal friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
