Rather by chance I got notice of the death of Robert (Bob) sitting in front of my PC. It hurts - because I knew him from my holidays with my parents and my brother in my youth in Bad Kissingen, Kurfürstenstreet, Germany. Bob was always up for fun and with his wife Erika a very welcome and very sypmpathetic encounters during these holidays. I still have two pictures on my PC that remind me of those wonderful days of my youth (as a photographer I am not in the picture, in the foreground my brother Jürgen died in 2017, Erika and Bob , Erika's mother, the young woman became my wife). A Memorial Mass will be offered for Bob Luckenbill at the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Chattanooga, TN at 7am Tuesday, January 11, 2021, Very Rev. J. David Carter, Pastor and Rector, officiating. The Mass will be attended by Bob's nephew Bo Rist and his family, who live in Chattanooga. Rest eternal grant unto Bob, and may light perpetual shine upon him.
Bob and Erika were or neighbors on Waggoner St. We enjoyed their company while they were there. I know they are missed by family and friends.

Uncle Bob was a true witness of his Catholic Christian faith. He was trustworthy, honest, thoughtful, generous, and devoted to God, the Church, his vocation, and his family. Besides that, he was highly intelligent, accomplished in his work, an interesting conversationalist, super-funny, and all around fun to be around. The world has lost a great gentleman. We already miss him dearly and will honor his memory.
We invite all loved ones to pray often for the repose of Bob's and Erika's souls:
Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May Bob and Erika Luckenbill, and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
