Robert E. Midden's Obituary
Robert E. Midden, 83, of Decatur, died Thursday, November 8, 2007, in Aspen Ridge Care Centre.
Robert was born May 23, 1924, in Decatur, the son of George and Clara Vogelsang Midden. A U.S. Army Veteran of WWII, Robert was the owner/operator of Midden Supply Company. He was a member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, K of C Council #577, Very Reverend Jeremiah J. Murphy Assembly #0211, lifetime member of the Elks, American Legion and VFW Post #99. Robert married Dolores Moran on January 15, 1946 in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores of Decatur; daughter, M. Ann Midden of Decatur; sister, Margaret husband, Lawrence Heynen of Decatur; many nieces and nephews and faithful friend, Quincy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, George.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 am, Saturday, November 10, 2007, at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, with visitation one hour prior in the church. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to: St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church or St. Teresa High School.
