Robert L. Mundy's Obituary
Robert L. "Bob" Mundy, 77, of Decatur, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, December 3, 2006 with family present.
Concelebrated Mass of the Resurrection will be 11 am Wed Dec. 6, 2006, St. Patrick Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 pm Tues. in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home where a vigil prayer service will be held at 4:30 pm. Burial will be in St. Isidore Cemetery, Bethany. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to St. Patrick Catholic Church.
Bob was born on Jan. 3, 1929 in Decatur, the son of Delbert and Esther Bergbower Mundy. He was a long time member of St. Patrick parish and a 1947 graduate of St. Teresa High School. A retired brick mason craftsman, Bob enjoyed crappie fishing, gardening, and wood working as his hobbies. He married Patricia C. Powers on May 13, 1950 in St. Isidore Church in Bethany.
Surviving are his 6 children, 3 granddaughters, and 3 great grandchildren. Cynthia Anderson of Bradenton, FL, daughter Jen Steve Tabb and children, Dylan, Hunter and Jenna Shea of Sherman; Carolyn Bruce Shucart and daughter, Jessica Gulley of Eolia, MO; Robert P. Mundy and fiancÃ?©e Debra Graue of Lincoln; Margie Mundy of Bradenton, FL; Terry Mundy of Decatur and Patrick Mundy and daughter Jordan of Decatur; brothers: Charles Mundy of Decatur and Delbert "Gene" Erma Mundy of Phoenix, AZ; brother-in-law, Jim Betty Powers of Clayton, NC; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and daughter-in-law, Cheryl Mundy.
