Robert W. Snyder, 96, formerly of Decatur, died Wednesday, September 24, 2008, in St. Louis, Mo.
Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2008, in Point Pleasant Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Easter Seals.
Robert was born on June 24, 1912, in Decatur, to Everett and Letha McClanahan Snyder. He was a past member of Lakeview Baptist Church. He married Grace Walker. He worked as a switchman for the Wabash Railroad for 33 years before retiring. He proudly served his country as a member of the Army National Guard.
Surviving are his wife, Grace; son, Edwin Snyder of Oreana; son, Jerome Snyder Irene of Champaign; daughter, Patricia Williams Michael, of House Springs, Mo.; 9 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother; 2 sons; and 2 grandchildren.
