Doc Stengel and his wife, Fran were good friends of my parents, Dick & Hilda Norton. Doc's family and the Norton Children all grew up together and had such a great time on Hackberry Drive. Doc loved many things but mostly GOAT cheese (which Fran hates), shrimp, toasted coconut pie and Frosties! Although, I can't recall whether my mother or one of my siblings played such a joke on Doc. He was lamenting to my parents about how the tomatoes in his back yard were not getting ripe - all he had were a bunch of big green tomatoes. So my mother purchased a BIG RED PLASTIC tomato and one of the Nortons snuck into his back yard and put it right in the middle of his tomato vine. He got so excited until he learned it was just a big prank!
Doc was a great man and dentist!!!!!
