Robert C. Stewart's Obituary
Robert “Bob” “Butch” C. Stewart, 71, of Mt. Zion, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Robert was born November 7, 1946, in Minneapolis, MN to Robert J. and Doris I. (Kelly) Betzer. He was raised by his loving, adoptive father, Francis A. Stewart, and his mother. He married the love of his life, Linda Sue Aldrich on February 26, 1966, in Decatur, IL. Robert was a member of Teamsters Local 279. He loved listening to Elvis Presley, classic country music, watching western movies, square dancing, classic cars and dogs, but most of all, he loved watching his grandchildren play at their sporting events.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda; three children, Robert (Leah) Stewart of Mt. Zion, IL, Theresa (Keith) Koshinski of Decatur, IL and Andrew (Lynn Jones) Stewart of Long Grove, IL; his mother, Doris (Floyd) Grove of Decatur, IL; seven grandchildren, Brittney, Rachel, Deckard, Garin, Grace, Madeline and Brooklyn; one great-grandson, Aidan; three brothers, Stephan Stewart of Decatur, IL, Michael (Georgette)Betzer of Spokane, WA and Terry Betzer of Spokane, WA; three sisters, Lois Stewart of Ojai, CA, Patty (Larry) Tritt of Spokane, WA and Cathy McClure of Spokane, WA; brothers-in-law, Terry Aldrich and Jeff Aldrich; sister-in-law, Kathy Cummings; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Robert J. Betzer; adoptive father, Francis A. Stewart; and brother, Dennis Betzer.
Memorial services to celebrate the life of Robert Stewart will be 6 p.m. Friday, January 12, 2018, at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, before the service, at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.
