Robert E. Ward's Obituary
Robert E. Ward, 69, of Decatur, died Sunday, February 22, 2009, in his home with his family by his side.
Memorial service will be 1:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2009, in First Church of the Nazarene, 1177 W. Hickory Point Rd., Decatur. Visitation will be one hour prior in the church. Burial will take place in Macon County Memorial Park with military rites conducted by the Macon County Honor Guard. Memorials may be made to First Church of the Nazarene.
Robert was born August 29, 1939 to Melvin and Charlene Woolfe Ward. He graduated from Eisenhower High School in 1958. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He worked for A & P Brentwood Mall and as a business agent for United Food and Commercial Workers. He was a member of Business Agent Local 536, a VOC team member, and a member of UFC International. He was also a member of First Church of the Nazarene, and led the Friendship Class. He married Judith E. Allen on November 23, 1965, in Decatur.
He is survived by his wife, Judith; children, Paula R. Ward, of Decatur; David J. Ward, of Decatur; John M. Ward Katharina, of Springfield; Timothy S. Ward Kendra, of Decatur; grandchildren, Tiffany Pearl, of Decatur; Kylie Ann, Abby Marie, Emily Rene, Anna Grace, all of Springfield; sister, Janice Floyd Jay, of Mission, TX; brothers, James Ward, of Carrolton, TX; Dale Ward, of Decatur; Ted Ward of Wisconsin; and special friends, the family at First Church of Nazarene.
