Robert L. Wilkins' Obituary
Robert L. Wilkins 81 of Decatur died Wednesday March 5, 2008 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Private family services will be at a later date. Memorials gifts can be made to the American Cancer society.
Robert was born on July 6, 1926 in Hartford City, IN the son of Glenn and Dorothy Anderson Wilkins. He was a propane salesman and was an avid outdoorsman his favorite place being the Current River, Ozarks, Missouri. His love of nature and wildlife inspired his children to appreciate it all the more. He was the Best husband, dad, grandfather and friend anyone could ask for. He always tried and succeeded in giving all of us the very best. He will be forever missed but never be forgotten. Daddy, we love you.
Robert served his country proudly in the US Army Air Corps during WWII. He married Sharron Y. McGaughey on June 10, 1945 in Biloxi, MS.
Surviving are his wife, Sharron, children, John M. Wilkins Mitchi of Pittsburgh, PA; Ann Elizabeth Gudmundson Randy of Corona, CA; Melissa K. Fox Raymond of Twin Lakes, WI; Carolyn Stotler of Quincy, IL; Susan McCain Dale of Mt. Pulaski; brother, Richard Wilkins of Texas; sisters Beverly Craig of Columbus, IN; Linda Fesmire of Markelville, IN; 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
