I would like to tell the family how so sorry I am for their loss. I will never forget Roberta's beautiful smile and her friendliness toward others. Roberta always made me feel comfortable, she spoke her mind and gave advice in her own special way. I only met her a few years ago and didn't get to see her a lot but she definitely loved her family and I enjoyed the times I visited with her when I was able to. I could tell she was a very proud women and she carried herself so elegantly. Roberta will be missed by many.

I didn't know Roberta well, I really just met her after her sister Imogene died. But I certainly heard so much about her over the 40-some years that I knew Imogene (I married Phillip Hurt's sister Jan Wallace's son Jon). And then when Jan and Imogene died so close to each other in the summer of 2013, all of the Adkins sisters came to the memorial we held in Kankakee that Labor Day weekend. And we gathered again in November to lay their ashes to rest. We shouldn't have waited so long to get both families together. And of course we just shared the most wonderful luncheon with them and their niece Patsy Hurt on the beautiful Vero Beach Atlantic shore on Memorial Day. I posted the picture we had the waiter snap of the group. There were no thoughts we might lose one of the group so soon afterwards. Jon and I are very thankful we had this moment to remember. And we hope you find peace and joy in celebrating Roberta's life. Jon and Pat Wallace
