Roberta J. Van Deventer's Obituary
Decatur-Roberta J. 'Bobby' Van Deventer, 85, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2012 in St. Mary's Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Roberta's life will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church, 2160 N. Edward St. Decatur. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church.
Roberta was born May 24, 1927 in Decatur, the daughter of John and Anna (Doran) Howley. She was previously employed with Illinois Power, DMCOC, and as a caregiver. She was a charter member of St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church and an avid reader.
She leaves behind her daughter Mary Noland and husband Gregg of Decatur, grandchildren Brian Noland and wife Heather and Amy Noland and fiancée Scott Heiserman all of Decatur, great-grandson Cole Noland, sister Margaret Howley of Decatur, sister-in-law Mary Ellen Howley of Alanta, GA, nephew Terry Howley and wife Phyllis of Decatur, many other loving nieces and nephews, and special friends Alyce Belden, Barb Leonard, and Maxine Salefski.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents, brother John M. Howley, and sister Mary Eloise Kiser.
