Rodney E Dixon's Obituary
Rodney Eugene Dixon was born on March 6, 1954 to the parents of Fountain Leroy Dixon and alma Jean Dixon in Decatur, IL.
During Rodney’s life he loved football and working with children. He coached JFL football, weight training and exercising at the YMCA and training and teaching martial arts.
The spirit led Rodney to Life Changers Church where he served as a faithful member. He was appointed to the security team until his health failed.
Rodney was employed at AE Staleys and later at Tate & Lyle.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Sheila Dixon; step-son, Monte Jones; step-mom, Opal Dixon; brothers, Marlon (wife, Corletta) Lynn Dixon, Leroy Dixon, James Dixon and Terrence (wife, Louise) Sanders. Aunt Shirley (husband, Rev. Marshall) Hughes. A host of nieces and nephews, cousins, other family members and his very special family of martial arts.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fountain Leroy Dixon, mother, Alma Jean Dixon and his sister, Sheila Dixon.
Funeral services to celebrate the life of Rodney Dixon will be 11 a.m. Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Life Changers Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, at the church.
