Roger Lloyd Mulholland's Obituary
Roger Lloyd Mulholland, 95, of Forsyth, Illinois, passed away on
Easter Sunday, April 20, 2025.
A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be held at 10 am,
Friday, May 2, 2025, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Decatur, Illinois, with Rev. Rick Weltin officiating. Burial will be in
Calvary Cemetery, Decatur, Illinois, at a future date. Moran and
Goebel Funeral Home is assisting the family with burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to
Millikin University or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church.
Roger was born September 11, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, the
second son of Ralph and Margaret (Haefele) Mulholland. In 1952
he married Shirley M. Witt and together they had 4 children.
Shirley proceeded him in death on October 17, 2008.
Roger was an Army veteran. He graduated from Millikin
University in 1951. He worked for Illinois Central Gulf Railroad for
38 years, retiring in 1990. He and his wife co-owned and
operated the Mulholland Driving School for many years.
He liked to garden, travel, ride his bike, and play bridge. Roger
lived a full and impactful life. He will be dearly missed by his
loving family and friends.
He is survived by: his sons, Dr. Michael Mulholland (wife Patty) of
Ann Arbor, MI; Thomas Mulholland (wife Angela) of O’Fallon, IL;
and daughters, Cathy McFadin (husband Mike) of Bloomington,
IL; Leslie Ross (deceased husband, Greg) of Decatur, IL; sister,
Marcia Goltermann (deceased husband, Robert) of Elmhurst, IL;14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren with another great
grandchild due in July.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Ronald F. Mulholland
