Roger E. Westerfield's Obituary
Roger E. Westerfield, 69, of Decatur, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at 1:56 pm in Decatur Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family.
Roger was born January 19, 1941, in Monmouth, the son of Richard E. and Ruth Ann Harington Westerfield. A member of Saints James and Patrick Catholic Church and Teamsters Local 279, Roger worked at Parke Warehouses for more than 20 years. Decatur. He was a hard working man and past member of the Prairie Land Dancers who loved to play bingo and go camping.
Surviving are his children: Lisa Bundy, Brian Dawn Westerfield, Brad Toni Westerfield, Jason Westerfield, Juliane Westerfield, Chris Heather Westerfield, and Melissa Nathan Riggs; 17 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; brother, Richard Lee Westerfield; sister, Ruth Ann Bob Oyler of Mt. Zion; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Aaron E. Westerfield; grandsons: Todd Shroat and Timothy Westerfield; granddaughter, Makaila Westerfield; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Westerfield.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 pm Friday, May 7, 2010 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home where a vigil prayer service will be held at 5:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am, Saturday, May 8, 2010, in St. Patrick Catholic Church. Burial will be in North Fork Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to: Ss. James & Patrick Catholic Church..
The family would like to thank DMH CVU and ER nurses and staff as well as McKinley Court Nursing Home nurses and staff for their kindness, compassion, and loving care given to Roger.
