Roland Dickson's Obituary
Roland J. Ã?¯Ã?¿Ã?½Red QuinnÃ?¯Ã?¿Ã?½ Dickson, 78, of Decatur passed away on Friday October 15, 2010 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Roland was born on February 11, 1932 in Montpelier, OH the son of Kenneth and Osie Mae Grimes Dickson. He was retired from Caterpillar and was Veteran of the US Navy. He was a member of Sts. James and Patrick Church and the Moose. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels with Catholic Charities and participated in Adoration at St. Mary’s Hospital.
Surviving are his sons, Steve Dickson and Kenneth Dickson both of Decatur; daughter, Kelly Levesque John of Lakewood, WA; sister Sally Ellegood Bud of Decatur; grandchildren, Chelsea Dickson, Windi Tackett Randy, Holli Dickson, Adam Dickson, Kevin Taylor, Brian Taylor Amanda, and Jason Taylor; extended family Kim Sloan Bill of Argenta; Gehl Tucker Joan of Flagstaff, AZ; Steve Horve Tina; Jeff Horve Michelle; Brandon Sloan Lora; Christina Sommer Mike; several great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Janice, one son Kevin Dickson, special friend Anna Tucker, and extended family Linda and Bobby.
Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am Tuesday October 19, 2010 in St. Patrick Catholic Church with Re. Jeff Grant as Celebrant. Visitation will be one hour before service in the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery Decatur. Memorials are suggested to Catholic Charities, Salvation Army, or St. Patrick Church.
