Ronald Boyer's Obituary
Decatur-Ronald E. “Ron” Boyer, 50, of Decatur, passed away at 7:12 p.m. Friday, July 1, 2011 at Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Services to celebrate Ron’s life will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2011 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 352 W. Wood St. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Interment with “Last Ride” Motorcycle Hearse and “Flight Home” Ceremony will be in Fairlawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church Building Fund.
Ron was born October 11, 1960 in Decatur the son of Larry L. and Sandy Johns Boyer. He was employed as a sheet metal worker/fabricator at PCM/Kelly Group with over twenty-seven years of service. He was a member, lay minister, and leader of the Discipleship Team at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Ron enjoyed hunting, woodworking, and riding his H-D motorcycle. He married Monica Hunsley April 28, 1984.
He leaves behind Monica his beloved wife of over twenty-seven years, son, Zachary of Carbondale, daughter, Emily of Carbondale, parents, Larry and Sandy of Decatur, brother, Mark of Orlando, Florida, sisters, Gloria Claussen and husband Norm of Petersburg and Brenda Aymer of Decatur, niece, Nancy Jeisy and husband Kyle of Decatur, and mother-in-law, Edith Hunsley of Decatur.
He was reunited in Heaven with his grandparents and father-in-law, Roy A. Hunsley.
