Ronald Edward Hageman's Obituary
Ronald was the son of Wilbur and Olive Prince Hageman. He was retired from Norfolk and Southern where he was employed as a Locomotive maintenance supervisor. He was also retired from the United States Army where he served for twenty plus years. He served two years in Vietnam, three years in France, three and a half years in Germany, and two years in Alaska. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star, Air Medal, and a Army Commendation. He was a member of the Parkway Church of the Nazarene, previously he was a member of Central Baptist Church. His memberships include: the D.A.V., American Legion Castle Williams Post #105, V.F.W. Oren L. Davis Post #99, and Vietnow. He married Betty May Whitaker in 1952 and she preceded him in death on July 11, 1998. He then married Theodosia ”Teddy” Barrett on December 06, 2000 in Decatur.
Surviving are: his wife; sons: Dean Hageman of Vinton, VA.; and Michael Hageman of Decatur; daughters: Debra Martin of Fincastle, VA.; and Ronelle Dudding of Troutville, VA.; eleven grandchildren, and four great grandchildren; step-children: Nicky T. Barrett, Paula Stine, and Dorothy Barrett all of Decatur; and three step-grandchildren.
His parents and first wife preceded him in death.
