Ronald Eugene Miller's Obituary
Decatur-Ronald Eugene Miller, 77, of Decatur, passed away Thursday, November 21, 2013 in his home with his family by his side.
Ron was born October 19, 1936, in Decatur, the son of Clifford and Josephine (Parker) Miller. He was previously employed as a conductor with the Illinois Central Railroad retiring after forty-three years of service. He was a member of the Illinois Central Railroad Retirees Club. He enjoyed golfing and watching the Illini, Bears, and Cubs. He married Mary Anna Bukowski March 22, 1974.
Ron leaves behind his wife Mary Anna, sons Randy Miller and wife Teresa of Decatur and Michael Miller and Donna Jackson of Decatur, daughter Kristy “Cricket” Miller and companion Laura Williams of Decatur, grandchildren Justin Miller and wife Becky, Brit Miller and wife Emily, Leigh Miller, and Matthew Miller, great-grandchildren Macy and Cooper Miller, and sister Pat Cook of Decatur.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to give a special thanks to nieces Patty and Sandy and DMH Hospice of for all of their loving care.
Funeral Liturgy to celebrate Ron’s life will be 4 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
