Ronald Thompson's Obituary
Ronald Lee Thompson, 67, of Harristown died at 8: 30 am, Sunday, April 03, 2005 in Decatur Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be 10 am Wednesday, April 06, 2005 in the Moran & Goebel Funeral Home where visitation will be Tuesday evening April 05, 2005 from 6-8 pm. Ronald was born in Decatur on April 28, 1937 the son of Clyde and Mary Vowell Thompson. He graduated from Decatur High School class of 1956. He worked for A. E. Staley for over 38 years. He served his country in the Army then served in the Army Reserves for 5 1/2 years. He enjoyed watching the Fighting Illini, and was an avid Chicago Cub fan. He married Nancy Davidson in Decatur on September 17, 1960, she preceded him in death on September 23, 1980.
Ronald is survived by his four sons; Tim and wife Kassandra of Maroa, Mark of Harristown, David and wife Diana of Decatur and John “Scott” and wife Teresa of Dalton City; grandchildren, Casey, Nicole, Josef, Ashlei, Rebekah and great granddaughter, Anastacia; nieces, Paula, Krissy and Kylee. His sister; Dolores Roper of Harristown.
Ronald was also preceded in death by his parents.
